I do not intend to sound too melodramatic, but if we do not fix public education, NO ONE will escape the consequences. With the Supreme Court now officially endorsing a new legal proliferation of guns, we only need to add in increasing gangs and drugs.  The result of this poisonous concoction will surely doom our society and turn it back to the Wild West. There will be nowhere to hide and no one will be safe; regardless of where you can afford to live.
